Jocelyn Chin is a Girl Scout Ambassador in Troop 5428 and is currently a high school senior. She has been a Girl Scout for over 11 years and has been serving her community through various community service projects. ComMUSICty is her Girl Scout Gold Award Project where she hopes to combine her two passions: music and helping her community.
She has been playing the flute and piano for over ten years. Along the way, many music teachers have helped to foster her growth as a musician and a person. Through this project, she hopes to influence budding musicians in the same way previous teachers have impacted her.
Lifestyles Began Operating In 1994 Through The Collaboration Of Parents, Community Organizations, Local Business People And A Group Of Developmentally Disabled Adults (Program Participants). Each Group Recognized The Need To Develop Programs That Provide Participants With Realistic Work Settings And Experiences Within The Staten Island Community And Beyond.
Having Served The Developmentally Disabled Population Of Staten Island For Over 20 Years, Lifestyles Continues To Strive To Offer More Diverse And Unique Services. Lifestyles Started As An Agency Which Served Four Adults And Families And Now Serves Over 400.
Our Musicians within our commusicty are talented, passionate and diverse individuals who want to spread the love of music.
Kristian Marino
Kristian Marino is currently a high school senior. He has been playing the trumpet for over 9 years and has played in various concert bands, orchestras and musical band pits. By joining ComMusicty, he wants to spread his love for music while benefiting other people in the community.
Jacquelyn Chin
Jacquelyn Chin is currently a junior in high school. She currently plays the trumpet in her school's Wind Ensemble and has been playing trumpet and piano for over ten years. She is also an actress in her school musicals. As a fellow Girl Scout, she knows the importance of giving back to the community and joined ComMusicty to do so through music.
Jake Li
Jake Li is currently a freshman in high school. He plays the clarinet in his school's band and has been playing since 2nd grade. Jake saw this program as a rare opportunity to play music, hang out with friends, get service hours and best of all - help people. He hopes to continue sharing his love of music with others.
Yostina Girgis
Yostina Girgis is currently a senior in high school. She has been playing the tenor saxophone for 7 years and has recently taught herself piano. Music, whether instrumental or vocal, was and still is life-changing for Yostina. By joining ComMusicty, she hopes to share that passion and help expose others to the beauty of music. She believes that everyone should feel the joy and happiness that comes from producing music with an instrument or belting out a fan-favorite song.
Jacob Chin
Jacob Chin is currently a sophomore in high school. He plays the saxophone, flute and piano. Although he does not currently play in his high school band, Jacob finds joy in teaching others music and rhythms while spreading his knowledge of music.
Dario Rosato
Dario Rosato is a high school sophomore and has been playing the drums for seven years. He enjoys playing music because he loves the idea of expressing yourself through the sound of an instrument. When Dario plays the drums, he doesn’t just bang on the instrument but supports the band by giving rhythm to the melody of a song. He was excited to be a part of this project because he loves teaching people about the drums. He is very thankful for having the opportunity to work with the participants of Lifestyles.
Nicole Birnbaum
Nicole Birnbaum is currently a senior in high school. She has a passion for language and reading. Although having minimal musical talent, she wanted to join ComMusicty as a photographer to document each practice session through pictures and videos. She is thankful for this experience because it has allowed her to meet very extraordinary people.
